Belize Sacred Caves & Coast Itinerary

The 8-day Belize Sacred Caves & Coast land-based tour is an inspiring exploration of Belize’s jungles, caves and Caribbean coastline and begins and ends in Belize City, Belize.
Upon arrival at Belize City International Airport, be met by a local representative for the two-hour transfer to the Caves Branch Jungle lodge on the banks of the Caves Branch River. Arrive in time for dinner at the unique lodge perched on a 58,000-acre private rainforest reserve on the turquoise waters of the Caves Branch River.
Journey into the lush plant and animal life of the Belize jungle on two single day adventures or one overnight adventure. Single day adventure options include guided cave explorations in some of the most spectacular underground areas around; jungle expeditions for up close encounters with indigenous flora and fauna; jungle mountain biking, which is suitable for all ability levels; river kayaking on one of the best rivers in Belize; birding and wildlife treks that search for animals in their natural habitat; Maya ruins exploration in the Belize jungle, searching for lost ruins and civilizations; and customized high adventure tours designed by the lodge owner himself. Each excursion is created with the goal of highlighting the region’s diverse geology and abundant wildlife. Return each afternoon for a swim in the river and for dinner.
Transfer from the Caves Branch Jungle Lodge to the Placencia peninsula via minibus, enjoying a two-hour scenic drive through the heart of the Maya mountains. Upon arrival to Chabil Mar Villas on the Belize coastline, check in to a beachfront cabana. The remainder of the afternoon is yours to snorkel or relax on the beach in front of your Caribbean cabana.
Awaken to the sound of the gentle surf quietly lapping at the shore. This tranquil spot on the Caribbean Sea is a great place from which to launch an all-day snorkel trip to several reef sites with an experienced private guide. Enjoy a BBQ lunch on a deserted caye.
Spend two days enjoying the beach, water and atmosphere of the Caribbean Sea. Activity options in Placencia (additional cost) include snorkeling, SCUBA diving, spin and fly fishing, kayaking, canoeing, sailing, bicycling, a day trip to the Monkey River, the Cockscomb Wildlife Sanctuary and a visit to the village of Placencia. Unguided days provide the freedom of opportunity and the flexibility of a tranquil vacation.
Take the return transfer from Placencia to Belize City International Airport for flights home or on to the next adventure.

Airfare to/from Belize, excess baggage charges, tips and gratuities to naturalist and hotel staff, items of a personal nature such as alcoholic beverages and insurance of any kind. Payment & Cancellation
In order to confirm this trip, a deposit of 25% of the total trip cost is required per person at time of booking. The balance of the trip price is due 90 days before the departure date. Special holiday payment and cancellation terms may apply. Guests who must cancel their trip for any reason must do so in writing. Standard cancellations are subject to the following per-person penalties, based on number of days prior to departure:
Up to 91 days – 50% of deposit
90 to 31 days – 50% of total trip cost
30 to 0 days – 100% of total trip cost

Arrival & Departure
The Belize Sacred Caves & Coasts adventure begins and ends in Belize City. We highly recommend arriving one day prior to your trip start date in case of any flight delay, cancellation or lost luggage issues. Plan flights to arrive any time on day 1 and depart in the afternoon on day 8 of the outlined itinerary from Belize City International Airport (BZE).
