After breakfast, a private transfer will take you for a 60-minute ride to the Savegre River for a special white-water rafting class. The Savegre River offers II and III-class rapids in the purest waters of Costa Rica. Its bends and turns offer adrenaline and excitement to people of all ages and no previous experience in rafting is required. Prepare to admire exuberant flora and abundant fauna around, floating down and even hopping off your raft to swim in calmer waters. Return to the yacht for lunch.
Enjoy an afternoon of marine activities in Biesanz Bay with a kayak exploration of the surrounding area, snorkeling, paddleboarding, gliding with a Seabob, or enjoying the ship’s amazing Oceanic Club.
Arrive in Isla del Caño and disembark in a unique underwater expedition to discover one of the largest and best-preserved coral reefs in the Pacific Ocean. This island is not only an amazing spot for snorkeling and scuba diving, but it also has great conditions for the upbringing of young humpback whales, and it is not uncommon to see them around during whale season (July-September). Enjoy a morning of a guided snorkeling expedition. Lunch on board.
Enjoy an afternoon of marine activities with the Oceanic Club deployed: Slide, piers, seabobs, kayaks, SUPs, island, etc. During your sailing to Drake Bay, look out for playful dolphins swimming next to the yacht. Dinner on board.
Disembark in Corcovado National Park with a wet landing in the beach at La Sirena ranger station. The crown jewel of the South Pacific, Corcovado sits like an emerald crown on the Osa Peninsula. Renowned as one of the most biodiverse places on Earth, its ancient rainforests teem with life. Towering trees pierce the sky, their limbs draped in emerald vines and vibrant bromeliads. Scarlet macaws flash through the canopy, their calls echoing through the humid air. Tapirs, elusive and shy, weave through the undergrowth, while spider monkeys swing acrobatically from branch to branch. Jaguars, the apex predators of these wild lands, stalk unseen, their presence a whisper on the forest floor. Lunch on board.
Take the afternoon to relax on board and enjoy a workshop while sailing to your next stop in Puerto Jimenez. After the transit, disembark and transfer to the airport or nearby hotel.

Payment & Cancellation
In order to confirm this trip, a deposit of $1,000 ($2,000 for single occupancy) is required per person at time of booking. The balance of the trip price is due 90 days before the departure date. Special payment and cancelation terms may apply for holidays and group booking 3 cabins or more, inquire for details. Guests who must cancel their trip for any reason must do so in writing. Standard cancellations are subject to the following per-person fees, based on number of days prior to departure:
Up to 91 days – 50% of deposit
90 to 60 days – 100% of deposit
59 to 0 days – 100% of total trip cost

Arrival & Departure
The 5-day southbound Kontiki Pura Vida cruise begins Quepos (XQP) ends Puerto Jimenez (PJM). Plan international flights to arrive to San Jose, Costa Rica (SJO) ahead of Day 1 of the itinerary, as embarkation is at 4 pm on Day 1 in Quepos, which is best reached via a domestic flight. Disembarkation is after breakfast on the final day of the outlined itinerary. Plan flights to depart San Jose no earlier than 8:00pm on the final day, or plan on an overnight in San Jose. Activities
Whether you are looking for light activity options or more challenging outdoor pursuits, the ship’s crew can tailor most excursions to suit your skill level. Adventure activities may include rendezvous diving (added cost with all gear provided by third party, see Exclusions), hiking, swimming, snorkeling, kayaking and stand-up paddleboarding, inflatable boat/skiff excursions, photography, cultural tours, land treks and wildlife observation.

Families & Children
Children 5-12 years old at time of travel receive 15% off the double occupancy rate (applies when sharing a cabin with one or two adults, or when two children occupy an interconnecting cabin). For individual bookings, it is recommended that children be at least 6 years old. Child discount still applies during holidays.

Outdoor Common Areas
The Kontiki yacht features inviting outdoor zones on three of her four decks. The Sundeck offers the largest outdoor space: the Wellness Retreat. Guests can relax at shaded, modern wooden tables, rest on chaise lounge chairs and oversized daybeds, or soak in the large Jacuzzi with its commanding 360-degree views. Beach towels are provided aboard. An elegant outdoor shower and adjacent restroom provide comfort.
Forward on the Veranda Deck is the sun-soaked Chill Parlor, with two padded benches, electrical outlets, panoramic views and plenty of sea breeze. Finally, the Panoramic Deck houses the Rukiki Deck at the stern—a large teak deck with space for gearing up and heading out on regular excursions.
Indoor Common Areas
Kontiki Wayra's indoor spaces create a serene atmosphere aimed at wellness, rest and fostering connections. The Panoramic Deck's Foyer features wraparound couches and easy access to the swim platform and the dining room. Natural fibers, wood and stone artifacts pepper the bookshelves and large view windows bring the outdoors in.
The Interior Deck offers a side-by-side gym and spa, plus an outdoor treadmill, to further the onboard wellness theme. Guests can access machines such as an elliptical bike and a treadmill while taking in the beautiful views. The spa is ready to pamper with a massage table and various self-care treatment options such as facials. And an onboard gift shop offers locally produced art and handicrafts.
Dining & Bars
Dining is a refined, gourmet affair aboard the Kontiki yacht, created by two chefs, a waiter and a bartender. The seasonal menu blends Costa Rican food with international favorites, highlighting traditional local flavors, premium organic ingredients from regional farms and fish from the seas in which Kontiki Wayra sails. Think seafood, poultry and meat from small producers; corn, plantains, beans and coconut. Guests can customize their desired provisions on a Costa Rica yacht charter aboard Kontiki Wayra.
Breakfast and lunch is served buffet style while dinners are plated, with daily snacks on offer between meals. A private onboard wine cellar is stocked with bottles hand selected for sophisticated palettes and special occasions. Other available beverages include soft drinks, an assortment of beer and other spirits, classic and signature cocktails, local coffee and organic teas.
Handmade stoneware plates blend with woven mats and coasters sourced locally from the destinations in which Kontiki Wayra sails. While the cuisine is upscale, the atmosphere and necessary attire is casual.
The Organic Bar and Dining Room serves up refreshing beverages and an natural chic ambience. Bench and chair seating is unreserved, encouraging travelers to change up their dining partners throughout the cruise. On the Sundeck, a charming bar invites guests to enjoy a revitalizing drink, with plenty of seating both in and out of the sun. When the weather permits, al fresco dining is hosted on the Sundeck.

Kontiki Wayra is a yacht geared for fun and adventure, lead by her two onboard guides. This Costa Rica yacht is equipped with snorkeling equipment for all guests (including 3mm wetsuits), 4 tandem kayaks, 4 stand-up paddleboards and 2 tender vessels for off-ship excursions. The Kontiki yacht carries additional water activity equipment, uncommon among small ships, including: a multi-story inflatable waterslide, an oceanic pool, a floating marine platform and 4 Seabobs—underwater Jet Skis.
Cabins & Deck Plan Aboard Kontiki Wayra
Common to all nine staterooms aboard Kontiki Wayra are a plush king-size bed that's convertible into two twins; accent chair and desk; closet and storage space (small to mid-size suitcases recommended); automatic blinds and lighting; air conditioning; smart TV and optional music; Nespresso machine; and a spacious private bathroom with rain shower, porcelain features, hair dryer and L'Occitane amenities.
Staterooms blend optimal comfort with soothing natural and artisan features including teak wood floors, wood wall accents, natural fibers (such as silk rugs and alpaca wool throw blankets), handcrafted coffee mugs, bronze hooks and ocean views. Electrical plugs in every stateroom are standard 120V and standard frequency of 60Hz. Power outlets are type A and B, similar to the ones used in the U.S.—European plugs will need an adapter.
