You have questions.
We have answers.
Choose the Alaska Quest for her micro-cruise size (perfect for families) and experienced crew. Captain Eric has over 20 years navigating small passenger ships along the Inside Passage, and his two crew members each bring over a decade of partnership to the operations of the Alaska Quest boat. Plus, Lovie the hypoallergenic mini-schnauzer adds a touch of adorable to every day.
Onboard Facilities
The Alaska Quest boat is a charming multi-level floating home, with a creative layout for both efficiency and camaraderie. Her warm wooden paneling, modern fixtures and brass touches create an inviting atmosphere. And her various view windows invite you to unwind, breathe and be present. For those unable to fully disconnect, satellite internet is available by request.
Outside, three external deck areas provide access to wildlife viewing and photo opportunities: A top deck seating area, a bow viewing area and an aft swim platform complete with fishing equipment. The ship’s generous rear platform with wraparound railing make for easy loading and unloading. And the top deck enables 360-degree views to ensure wildlife is always in sight.
Dining, Salon & Pilothouse Galley
Indoors, a main deck salon invites guests to relax in overstuffed leather couches and chairs, play cards or a board game at the table, read a book from the library beside a cozy hearth, or simply watch the world go by outside walls of windows. A few steps up from the salon is the unique pilothouse galley, where veteran navigation (and panoramic windows) meets delicious meals.
Enjoy a conversation with naturalist and Captain Eric or Senior Mate Nate, while savoring fresh Alaskan fare crafted by Sarah, the ship’s galley, steward and Admiral. Food on board the Alaska Quest boat is topnotch, with dishes such as blueberry almond french toast, dungeness crab melts, seafood lasagna and hand-dipped chocolate raspberries with homemade shortbread. The menu will revolve around your dietary interests, plus seasonal produce and fresh catches. While soft drinks are included, guests must provision their own wine, beer and liquor.
Activities & Expeditions
The Alaska Quest boat is equipped for daily off-ship adventure (including rain gear), and with her tiny guest count, activities are guaranteed to be personalized and without any wait. Every departure will feature sailing and excursions full of glaciers, fjords, remote coastline and stunning wildlife, including whales. And each sailing will also be tailored to the intrigues of your group, with a menu of optional add-on excursions.
The ship carries two skiffs for tendering and cruising shallow waters, plus four kayaks and two stand-up paddleboards for additional exercise and exploration. Anglers can make use of the onboard fishing gear, plus practice using the shrimp and crab pots. Time ashore is guaranteed, with options to hike, take in cultural and historical highlights, and experience the small towns that give southeast Alaska its character.
Cabins & Alaska Quest Deck Plan
Three double-occupancy staterooms, each with at last one porthole, comprise the hull of the Alaska Quest boat. The v-berth Forward Stateroom has a queen bed and large bathroom with shower. The Mid-Stateroom‘s queen bed is convertible to two twins, and its ensuite bathroom is equipped with a toilet and sink. The Double Bunkroom has two extra-long berths and shares the hallway bathroom’s shower with guests in the Mid-Stateroom; this same bathroom provides a toilet and sink for bunkroom guests.
