The M/V Futura, sister ship of M/V Avangard, is a 156-foot-long, 30-foot-wide modern and deluxe small ship designed for cruising among Croatia’s Aegean Sea. Built in 2013 with modern equipment and amenities, she cruises with a maximum of 38 passengers in 19 guest cabins, guaranteeing an intimate setting for all guests. If you are seeking a deluxe yacht that cruises Croatia in style at an affordable price, the Futura is a good option.

AdventureSmith Explorations’ Futura review includes a detailed description of the small ship including deck plans and a photo gallery. Choose the M/V Futura if you are seeking highly personalized service in a more intimate atmosphere. She is part of a fleet of sleek, modern yachts that are elegant enough to make your vacation feel upscale but affordable enough that you can add a European land package to your cruise. She has a bright white interior with polished wood, chrome, steel and glass accented with LED lighting and splashes of color, giving the ship the feel of a private mega yacht. Rooms are comfortable but not luxurious. We recommend the upper deck cabins because they have larger portholes that open; they are farther away from the sound of the engines/generators; they are higher on the ship; and they’re closer to the dining room, lounge and sun deck. Some upper deck cabins also have doors that open to the exterior of the ship and can be opened to let in the refreshing Mediterranean breeze.

Common Areas Aboard Futura

The Upper Deck dining room is fully air-conditioned and can accommodate all passengers at once, yet offer a great degree of privacy for each guest. The restaurant includes a bar area with LCD TV, and a corner table for buffet breakfast. A portion of the dining area extends outdoors as a lounge area, offering sweeping panoramic views of the surroundings. Free WiFi is available.

The sundeck lounge spans the entire top of the ship and is partially shaded with comfortable deck beds to relax. The covered part of the upper deck is spacious enough to accommodate all passengers and has tables, chairs and a public restroom. At the Futura’s stern there are stairs to a rear access platform to the sea with ladders that drop down for easy access during swim stops. In addition, the ship has two outdoor showers and three public restrooms on deck.
