You have questions.

Built in 1953, the three-deck MS Stockholm initially operated under the Swedish National Maritime Administration, later being refit for the comforts of passenger travel. Her cabins and common areas still feature the nautical themes of her past, with warm wood, gleaming brass, classic bead board, well-stocked bookshelves, and framed black-and-white photos, antique maps and field guide pages.

Choose the MS Stockholm ship for her historic charm, wooden decks and brass details. History buffs will swoon over this lovingly maintained, dual-masted yacht, and Arctic explorers will benefit from the ship’s legacy as one of the first passenger ships cruising Svalbard.

In the dining room, guests are treated to healthy family-style meals across two tables bathed in natural light. International dishes and special plates for vegetarians and vegans ensure everyone is well fed. Unique among her fleet, MS Stockholm offers included beverages, such as wine with dinner and warming liquors perfect for a nightcap.

The lounge invites guests to relax in handcrafted furniture reminiscent of MS Stockholm’s 1950s-era build. The large flat-screen TV enhances guide lectures, and almost feels out of place among the otherwise timestamped interior. The large, open bridge is another guest favorite, with panoramic windows and some of the ship’s original operational and navigation equipment still in use.

Finally, the covered aft deck offers a comfortable space to sit with likeminded travelers, take in the breathtaking Arctic scenery and recap the day’s activities. Practicing photography and spotting for wildlife through the ship’s binoculars are also popular pastimes on board, while MS Stockholm navigates ice floes and sails in sight of glaciers.

The MS Stockholm is outfitted for adventure, with a wraparound viewing deck and two Zodiacs. Guests must be comfortable using a short ladder to access the Zodiacs for twice-daily outings by land and sea. Two knowledgeable and engaging guides accompany not only every off-ship excursion but also join for meals and relaxation.
